Our recently renovated pet hospital in Coffs Harbour has been custom-designed and equipped for the investigation and treatment of the majority of illnesses our patients present with. Our on-site laboratory allows us to offer immediate results in some cases, including serum biochemistry and PCV/TPP. In-house blood testing is mostly utilised for pre-anaesthetic blood screening tests but is also indispensable for emergency cases. Our binocular microscope is used daily to diagnose skin and ear conditions as well as giving on-the-spot information from needle aspirate cytology. Urinalysis can also be performed on-the-spot.
For more complete blood-work or for histopathology we send our samples to a larger laboratory who offer immediate pick up of samples and fast turnaround on results, with interpretation provided by a veterinary pathology specialist.
Our pet hospital has a dedicated imaging suite for digital radiography and ultrasound as well as a rigid endoscopy unit. Our sterile surgery theatre is equipped with top of the range anaesthetic monitoring equipment, anaesthetic machines and an LED surgical light.
During your pet’s stay in our veterinary hospital, we ensure that they get the best care and the attention they deserve. Additionally, all our pet hospital cages are situated in the large treatment room so there will always be someone to keep an eye on the patients.
For stable patients, dedicated cat and dog wards offer peaceful space for convalescing. A Feliway diffuser is provided in our cat ward to help alleviate the stress of hospitalisation.
Our Toormina vet clinic is a smaller clinic conveniently located near the Toormina Gardens Shopping Centre next door to the BCU with ample parking at the door. Whilst Toormina Road Veterinary Clinic is licensed by the Veterinary Practitioners Board to undertake all major veterinary procedures, we have chosen to offer consultation services and limited surgery from this practice. We now transfer all ongoing hospital cases and major surgery into Rose Avenue Veterinary Hospital.
